What’s for Lunch? Latin Square Restaurant & Havana Bar

Havana.jpg

Londonist asks that most pressing of daily concerns: where to go on your lunch break.

Latin Square Restaurant & Havana Bar
43-45 Farringdon Road EC1M 3JB
Map
Expect to Pay: Around £5 for a Daily Lunch Special
Rating: 7 out of 10

Londonist needed an escape from all the rain this week and so visited the Latin Square Restaurant & Havana Bar. It's found just around the corner from Farringdon tube and not hard to miss with its colourful exterior and wildly decorated interior. They offer a wide selection of tapas, salads, and Tex Mex cuisine that easily caters for the tastes of any group. Daily specials starting from a very affordable fiver included a variety of fajitas. However, we ended up with the American-sized burgers that definitely required two hands to be eaten.

The place is split into two parts, with the restaurant easily holding large crowds and being ideal for party hire. The bar offers plenty of standing space, with a TV showing music or sports events and comfortable square seats strategically placed underneath the skylight for a very welcoming atmosphere. We were pleased to find that happy hour extends to 8pm on weekdays and will have to return to try the great range of two-for-one cocktails or a pitcher of beer for just over ten quid.

We found the food great value and reasonable quality though we can't validate its authenticity.
