About a month ago, when we reviewed Sfizio Café, one anonymous reader commented with the following request:

Can someone please do a write-up of my favourite lunchtime haunt, Euro Coffee House … near Bond Street tube? It's a proper, old-fashioned greasy spoon caff, and it can't be beat.

Finally finding ourselves in said area, we decided to drop in on Euro Coffee House for lunch, where we had a mildly satisfying club sandwich for £4.10. Of course, we might have done better to order a plate of pasta as that seemed most popular among the caff's other customers. We dined al fresco, enjoying the mix of tourists, shoppers, and ambassadorial types passing between Selfridges et al on Oxford St and the embassies at Grosvenor Square.

Based upon our visit, there’s nothing remarkable to report about Euro Coffee House. It seems to be a safe bet for anyone looking to grab a quick bite in the area. Service is friendly and prompt, and prices are sensible. Euro Coffee House is probably a more preferable option to the nearby Pizza Hut, Spaghetti House, Bella Italia (etc!) and a more practical option than the few upscale restaurants and cafés on Duke St.

Can it be beat, as our anonymous reader attested? Sure, but it’s still a good place to keep in mind.
