Pop Art Tower for Old Street Roundabout?
There it is, pictured. What do you reckon? Bold, distinctive, certainly very different - although the use of bright colours in buildings seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment (one we're sure to regret in 10 years or so). The 43-storey tower, designed by Will Alsop, still awaits planning approval, and will be hated and loved in equal measure.

Bishopsgate Tower Bought, Renamed, About To Start?
This is the 288 m proposed curly-wurly tower some are calling the helter-skelter. But not the new owners of the site, Arab Investments, who have renamed it the Pinnacle. The tower, if built, would be the tallest structure in the City, so the name is well chosen. Sounds like it will go ahead, and soon. Interiror space is already being marketed, and foundation work is planned as soon as the current building is demolished.

Another Concrete Monster To Meet Wrecking Ball?
London's (mostly) reviled concrete office blocks are queueing up for demolition. Amongst many other examples, a couple of towers in the City are about to vanish and the old stock exchange is being reclad. Now it's reported that Portland House (the tallest building in Victoria) may be felled. The 100 m concrete eyesore could be swept aside to make way for a new office and housing scheme from Land Securities.
