Britain's greatest living illustrator is back with another free exhibition.

Fans of the great Quentin Blake are having a bumper year. February brought the Quentin Blake: Now exhibition, which showcased his most recent work. It was such a success that a sequel is now lined up for the same venue in April.

Quentin Blake: The QB Papers presents over 60 illustrations, drawn between 2017 and 2019. Many of them have never been seen before. The artist groups this collection into five intriguing themes: Scenes at Twilight, The Alternative Sports Olympics, Wildlife Artists of the Year, Feet in Water and Chance Encounters.

Blake — best known for illustrating the books of Roald Dahl — has chalked up over 500 books in his long, successful career, aimed at both children and adults. This latest exhibition is a chance to see how his work has evolved in recent years.

Meanwhile, Blake fans have something even bigger to look forward. The Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, a new visitor centre to showcase the art of illustration, will open in Clerkenwell in 2025 in the old waterworks buildings.

Quentin Blake: The QB Papers runs 10-28 April 2024 at the ARC Gallery, 4 Cromwell Place, SW7 2JE. Entrance is free.
