Classic Car Drive-In Cinema Rolls Into Nine Elms This May
Classic cars all parked up next to one another
Don't spill your Coke float on that upholstery...

Sitting back in a classy set of wheels — arm around your beau, burger in your mitt and a classic movie playing on the big screen. It's the American Dream, my friends, and this summer it's coming to Nine Elms.

Embassy Gardens' Drive-In Cinema lands for one day only — Saturday 11 May 2024 — screening the Lion King, Star Wars: A New Hope, Mamma Mia and From Russia With Love throughout the day. It comes with the bougie option to watch films while sat in a classic, super or muscle car (though you'll pay premium for the privilege — £140 for a car that seats two*). Embassy Garden also suggests you can drive to the movie in your own set of wheels — it's going to be fun seeing all those Zipcars mixed in with the Lotuses.

A Bond film showing at a drive in cinema
The drive-in cinema's at Embassy Garden for one day only.

For those who don't have such cash to spend, there's the thriftier option of renting a deck chair (£12.50) or a blanket (£7.50), and presumably casting occasional furtive glances towards the nice cars like they're someone you fancy on the tube. We are also promised mini classic cars for kids to have a quick sit in during the family-friendly films.

The drive-experience also offers cocktails from The Alchemist delivered to you during the film, and there are burgers, ice-creams and snacks to buy too.
