Last night London's Luvvieland came together for their annual award ceremony, the Oliviers. Having received 11 nominations across 10 categories, it looked like being Hairspray's night. And Londonist is happy to confirm what we already knew: the show is a deserved winner of the Best New Musical accolade. In addition, Leanne Jones (Best Actress in a Musical) rocks as the optimistic teen, Tracy Turnblad; Tracie Bennett (Best Supporting Role in a Musical) is similarly......

Londonist has been chortling all day at the latest antics of Westminster Council. It would seem that they are so desperate to rid Soho of its last few bastions of (real) sin (as opposed to fake sin) and close down the remaining three clip joints that they have resorted to texting all who stray within 30 metres of one of these establishments – in the hope we guess of starving them out. They have after all......

Hi! People! After all we're all people aren't we? I heard someone laughing out there at the back. Well done. Good, because the Lord he loves laughter and that's really the theme of my talk today, on this - let's face it - happy occasion: God, the laughter giver, Christ, the Comedian. Trivium's star is certainly shining in the metal firmament at the moment so a somewhat triumphant return to the Astoria on March 15th. Sludge rockers Monster Magnet, again......

'Jesus sandals' become a mainstay in the footwear department, Janis Joplin an iPOD favourite and lentils start to be all flavoursome. We do this because Londonist cares. That is right - Londonist cares. Londonist cares how polluted our urban environment is. And Londonist wants to do something about......

It's Wednesday so it must be the middle of the week and time for the Mid Week Music News. We're thinking of calling this column: We Read The NME So You Don't Have To. Let us know whether you're in favour. So the big news, not that we care, is that Oasis are playing some club dates in London in support of new album: Don't Believe The Truth. Tickets go on sale this Friday,......

Last time we did this it was with the new Kylie video and we had quite a response. This time, it's the Chemical Brothers who have decided to shoot their video for the new single in the capital. Some of the locations are relatively easy to place. For example, this shot looking up Tottenham Court Road from outside Goodge Street station: And Londonist had no problem naming the location of this chase scene as the......
