Last night London's Luvvieland came together for their annual award ceremony, the Oliviers. Having received 11 nominations across 10 categories, it looked like being Hairspray's night. Here's a novel idea for a film festival: instead of just showing a director's oeuvre straight, why not throw in a handful of films that complement, or contradict, or just plain go nicely with the main work? Well last night the awards were handed out, so it's time to see just how we did (and gauge whether it's worth having a punt on Oscar night or just saving our money for an extra large......

Sunday sees the return of the Oscars, a chance for Hollywood's elite to reaffirm that people do indeed like them, really really like them, and maybe pick up an award or two. Sticking with our lifelong policy of "everything's better when there's money on it", Londonist has laid out a significant amount of its meagre earnings on what we hope will be the best dogs in show. Before we get to the choices, we......
