Protest over national vs. regional chains, the never-ending debate over the place of cars and bicycles in our metropolises, professional sports scandals, remembering a solemn day, and being issued a search warrant - it all happened across our sites this week! Another banner week at Chicagoist started off with daily reports from food writer Lisa Shames on her attempt to eat only locally grown and raised foodstuffs all week as part of a farmers market......

Arguably the best city in the world for a music fan to live, pop legends come to play in London all the time. Often not only do they come for just one gig, but they stay for a while when they could easily make haste for the comforts of their own homes to eat biscuits and play video games. Prince recently played the O2 for three full weeks, Sonic Youth resided at the Roundhouse......

Tickets are £12.50 each and still available for box office collection. Tonight: Shoegazers amongst you unite, you have nothing to lose but your paisley pattern shirts at the return of......

The Oggs - Radiotherapy If we were to say The Oggs hail from NYC, with an album title like Radiotherapy, chances are you'd expect something on the punkier side of The Strokes. Not to be. Instead what we have......

The Clash's performance at the Rainbow Room in 1977 has been voted the Best London Gig Ever by Time Out. The Finsbury Park gig, which also included The Jam, Buzzcocks, Subway Sect and The Prefects as support, came top of the 100 strong list compiled by "journalists and contributors". The 'middle aged journos reminiscing about their youth' factor may have contributed to the Clash wining, but second place went to a much more recent......

Ever since the music world fell over it's collective hysteria at the Pixies reunion tour, bands have been reforming faster than new bands are being discovered. Londonist feels that this is the music industry's equivalent of Hollywood's remake fever. But then again there have been a few good remakes and there may well be a few more good reunions. With another 3 recently announced, the question is - how many of these guys do......
