As we warned earlier in the week, today is another bus strike Friday. This time it's Metroline and First drivers affecting 160 bus routes mainly across north-east and west London. For a full list of routes affected visit TFL's website. They're striking over pay again, seeking an across the board £30k for all bus drivers. If they get it, we're thinking of retraining. Good luck out there.......

Of the industrial variety that is. The District and Bakerloo lines may be a teensy bit affected today by two different disputes involving RMT members and something about sacked colleagues. Yawn. Meanwhile, on the buses, Unite says that its members are to strike on the 29th August and again on 12th September for 24 and 48 hours respectively. They claim that operators have different rates of pay and that bus drivers should be paid equally.......

Unite lived up to its name today, presenting demands on behalf of bus drivers across the capital for a standard wage and agreement on driving hours to address considerable disparities across operators. This is their first coordinated claim since privatisation in the 80s. Drivers working for different companies might currently be earning anything from £20-28K all in. Unite is calling for pay to be standardised at £30k across the board, recognising the key role......
