Linguistic London: apparently even Maori is flourishing here. It would seem that Poles wanting to learn English are being told that we still love talking about the weather. The Dark Knight is having a bit a dark hour here in London, with his arrest on suspicion of assault. Boris doesn’t approve of positive discrimination. Special play booths for hypochondriacs are being installed in Newham. There’s to be no more ignoring of them old parking......

One line review: The Dark Knight gets his balls back. Slightly longer (spoiler free) review: We came out of the cinema last night grinning. Sure, we overheard a few people muttering "too long" and "bit slow" but they were obviously stupid and would soon walk under a bus or tube raising the city's IQ slightly. Batman Begins is great. We went to see Batman Begins last night (and more on that later) and as we came out onto the mean streets of London (OK, Tottenham Court Road can't really be described as mean - although it gets a little surly on a Saturday afternoon it's still not quite Gotham) we were a little saddened that we don't have our own righter of wrongs, our own protector of the downtrodden, our own Dark Knight.........
