If only Londonist had a political crystal ball. We've done a quick-and-dirty analysis of this weekend's disquiet on the Labour benches with Gordon Brown/the direction of the Labour party/the lack of an open debate about leadership/whatever-you-want-to-call-the-current-media-bun-fight, and it seems to us that the revolt is being led by MPs who are a) from London; and b) women. So, first off, we had Siobhain McDonagh (MP for Mitcham and Morden) lose her government whip's job......

Harriet Harman woke up to the sound of overweight superheroes clambering on her roof this morning – for the second time in as many months. Two more Fathers4Justice campaigners have scaled her roof, unfurling a banner saying ‘Stop the War on Dads’ in the process, and vowing to stick it out for the long haul. The wife of a failed 21/7 suicide bomber gets fifteen years......

Fine whines: Boris says he’s found a Ken shaped stash of plonk, Ken says not. It may have been the least well kept surprise of the week, but rock fans had a treat at Wembley at the weekend when the Foo Fighters were joined by Led Zepp. East London’s City Pride has been sold for £32million making it the world’s most expensive pub. Staff at the Museum of London have gone on strike. It’s......

Now Londonist loves nothing more than to lambast the more-often-than-not witless or unwitting honourable members for London, whatever hue they be. But occasionally it behoves us to buck the trend and defend them. Today it seems to be Harriet Harman’s turn for a ribbing. Her scandalous action? A walk around Peckham/Camberwell sporting a stab-proof vest. Ah, but this dame is no Jacqui Smith, she of the chauffeur-driven kebab. Ms. Harman was on the beat with......
