Londonist just got word that Gourmet Restaurant Group, owners of the Tiffinbites brand, recently acquired Indian take-away chain the Bombay Bicycle Club. The deal coincides with the acquisition of Indian food and restaurant group Vama (which consists of a fine dining resto on Kings Road as well as large scale catering operations) and makes Gourmet Restaurant Group the largest Indian restaurant group in the UK. That above is some of the finest onion bhajia that Londonist has eaten. Instead of a dense blob of onion stodge, these were light shreds of onion coated in a gram flour batter and then deep fried.
