Diamond Geezer, Whistle Blower, or why the Underground is keeping us in the dark. An octogenarian peeping tom has been caught in flagrante in the chaps’ loo at St. Pauls. There’s a new chief Gunner. IOC bigwigs have been saying bigwiggy things in London. Three people have been arrested over the nine year old mystery of Tulay Goren's disappearance. The Dubai-beach-sex-romp Londoners are on their way home. Pink and purple London from Lady Vervaine’s......

The main athletics stadium for the 2012 Games is years away from completion, yet the project's post-2012 fate has suffered more slings and arrows of outrageous rumour than your average Fawlty Towers cast member's granddaughter. Stories that it could become West Ham's new home, see its seats shipped to the 2016 host city, or even be demolished, have all been given a thorough airing and then sent back to the dry cleaners. IOC big......

Quick quiz - which Olympic sport, flouting the notion of gender equality, is the only one without a women's programme? Boxing is the answer. Despite the male pugilists getting to pound eachother into the ground, women's boxing (not to be confused with foxy boxing) remains on the outside looking in. That may change come 2012. The Amateur International Boxing Association is planning on making a proposal to introduce female fighters at the London games,......

IOC Coordination Commission Chairman Denis Oswald was not only "truly impressed" with London's progress since the IOC's last visit but singled out progress on the Olympic parks as "truly astounding". Construction work on the sunken cupcake has commenced 3 months ahead of schedule. Asked to rate London's performance so far Mr Oswald generously marked us 9.75 out of 10 with only some concerns about transport......

The Boys (of the International Olympic Committee) are back in town . And everything’s looking peachy. Boris may be a bit short of funds for Crossrail. Pete Doherty seems to be able to play football. Is there no end to his talents? Walthamstow Race Track is going to the dogs. Well, actually, and very sadly we might add, it’s been sold to developers The mystery dude who spent sixty million on paintings last week......

Olympic news items are like buses, or decent Boris Johnson policies: you wait for ages then two come along at once. This week we've heard about the package of security measures announced for the Games, while the International Olympic Committee popped by to check up on how we're doing. The announcement in July 2005 of London's Olympic triumph came just hours before the worst terrorist atrocity the city has ever seen, so from the......

Boris Johnson might just have won himself the election with a pledge to abolish the bendy bus and bring back the Routemaster. Emotions were high today as the Bethnal Green tube station disaster was commemorated, 65 years on. Londonist is feeling left out: we want to climb up something and protest: today saw two up a crane grumbling about the EU Treaty. On the Olympic front, today saw the announcement that the IOC is......
