Clerkenwell's Jerusalem Tavern, which has long been a favourite with the Londonist crowd, has been named Town Pub of the Year. According to the Good Pub Guide 2009, the slender, oft-packed watering hole remains "delightfully atmospheric, even at its busiest", while in their monthly pub round-up for May, Fancy A Pint? reckoned it "one of a kind - with excellent own-brewed beers". 42. St John's Path Where? Deeply atmospheric jitty linking Britton Street with St John's Square, Clerkenwell. What? Someone requested this one a few weeks back. Surely some mistake, thought we. St John's Path is the Platonic ideal of backpassagery. We couldn't have missed such an instantiation, could we? Well, by Thackerey's scruttocks we did.
