Do you like free stuff, comedy, late nights and complimentary booze? Then you need to check to see if you're doing anything Thursday 27 November for an exclusive evening at Koko in Camden. We've heard that Drambuie are putting on an exclusive, free comedy show, "Late Night Pursuits" featuring Phil Kay, Sean Hughes, Rich Hall and Shappi Korsandi with 600 pairs of tickets to giveaway. Then there's an after party featuring the Red Hot Chilli......

Never thought you'd fancy a man in red patent pumps? Think again, girls and guys. In a show that's very much about a band and included animation, synchronised dance moves and low-brow performance art, it's hard not to talk singularly about Kevin Barnes, frontman, poser and general Christ-like figure from American band Of Montreal. Barnes swoops onstage in a cropped blue leather jacket and said shoes, later changing into an aqua sequinned jacket and......

Proving that it's hard these days to put on a gimmicky night without the blessing-and-curse stamp of a large corporation, Koko tonight played host to the first Xbox My Gig night, where a competition winner gets £50K to put on their dream gig. We won't devote too many column inches to the fantastic electro-popstrels CSS, on account of them having gobbled up enough already. Aside from their catsuits and such and such, they fill......

We sent twenty of our readers down to check out the very first Smirnoff Disco Live last week with the Fun Lovin' Criminals. Our reader Matt wrote back to tell us it was a very strange night out. Bar service was slow (probably because they weren't allowed to talk) and the atmosphere was a bit weird - "It felt like being in your grandmother's front room, having been told to keep the noise down." At......

Tarum Tarrah! (That was a drum-roll, peeps, to get you to fall quiet and pay attention)(you’ll thank us for it in a minute). This Saturday sees what could possibly be the most exciting club night of 2008. You know, there are boom-chaka, boom-chaka, boom-chaka evenings, and then once in a blue flashing mirror ball you get a real whop bop aloo bop a wop bam boo kind of a night. Soundcrash is organising and......

Free gigs ahoy! The Pipettes have announced they're to play a date at Koko on September 2 and the best bit is it's free! Well, kind of. You do have to pay a £2.50 postage fee (!) but for that you can bagsy yourself four tickets to see the new Pipettes 3.0 line-up courtesy of AOL. There's two further acts playing that night that are yet to be announced but we're hoping one of......

Last night Londonist caught US indie supremos Death Cab for Cutie at Koko in Camden as they played as part of the month long iTunes festival at the venue. Needless to say, after having a number one US album, appearing on the OC back when it was good, having a platinum selling big-label debut and selling out two nights at Brixton Academy in the past two years, getting to see them at the relatively......

It seemed ages away when we first mentioned it only last month, but this year's iTunes Festival is now well under way. Koko has been rocking overtime under the deluge of gigs that span the entire month of July and feature over 60 bands. Tickets are free, but you have to win them from someone who's giving them away... like us! Thanks to Warp Records we have a pair of tickets to give away......

The second night of iTunes Live is one for the serious muso fan. You know Glasvegas mean business when you see James Allen and his gang in black take to the stage. Latest single 'Geraldine' is fantastic live, with a wall of sound built from fuzzy guitars, howling feedback and pounding drums. On epic set-closer 'Daddy’s Gone', a young boy’s lament for his absent father, they sound beautifully heartbreaking. Paul Weller‘s fourth solo album,......

"Once upon a time in London, yo, I damn near had to steal the show" - Atmosphere, "God Loves Ugly" We know. We were there when it happened. But it wasn't last night. In 2006, Minneapolis producer-MC combo Atmosphere dragged a whole band along with them. The storming show, at Scala, was probably the finest live hip hop show London's witnessed that didn't involve The Roots. The fruit of that tour was new album......

All Tomorrow's Parties' Don't Look Back shows, in which artists perform classic albums in their entirety, has tended thus far to stick mainly to indie and rock. This year, however, rap is getting a look-in: later in May, Public Enemy will perform It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, and last night at Koko, Wu-Tang Clansmen Raekwon and Ghostface Killah rolled up to lay down the science from their 1995 mafioso-ridden......

Isn't it nice when a band not only manages to blow you away when you see them live, but also manage to blow themselves away? That was just the case last night at Koko, when Stars' frontman Torquil Campbell commented "y'know, I think this might be one of the reasons we love London so much" he grinned. You can tell he wasn't lying either, each of the members looked generally pleased, shocked, and amazed......
