Hackney Council are at it again. Taking half arsed decisions on Banksys. Last time they completely removed a stencil of a girl in a frilly dress and gas mask from Gillett Square. This time they've tried to wipe out the crude phallus being painted by the old fashioned, beard and hat sporting artist on the side of the Vietnamese restaurant in Victoria Park Road. What are they like? A council spokesperson said: "Most people......

Swimming pools are dangerous places. That's why they have all those rules. You know: - No bombing - No ducking - No heavy petting Etcetera, etcetera. Keep it safe. Don't drown. Well, it seems that drowning may be the least of your worries at a couple of our South London facilities. They need some new pool rules... In Morden: No reversing over pedestrians in the swimming pool car park In Thornton Heath: No cars in......

Remember, remember the fifth of November, as that will be your last chance to see the entrails of Battersea Power Station, and the exhibition on contemporary Chinese art. If, like us, you're really poor at organising your life, and missed the opportunity, then you might be interested in a short video tour online. TheLondonPaper seem to be good at filming spaces, even if they're not so hot at using them typographically. They've put together......

We adore quirky shops. Who doesn't? So we were delighted to stumble across these two curiosities within days of each other - presumably given these names to surf some now faded Holywood zeitgeist. Capitan Corelli can be found on Battersea Park Road, while the Lion King off licence is on Green Lanes. We're keeping our eyes open for 'Snakes on a Plane, family butcher'. Anyone got further examples of this curious trend?......

Here's a new one: demolish airport and replace it with homes. 200 members of the train workers union Aslef are striking over a row over taxis. Prince Philip is not a big fan of Olympic ceremonies and has vowed to do "as little as possible" during the 2012 Games.......

But don't fret......
