A few weeks back a group of Flickr folk, led by Annie Mole and supported by Trusted Places and the lovelies at Flickr themselves, were given free tickets to run amok in the London Transport Museum with their cameras. The Museum reopened in November last year following a major revamp and what better PR could the place wish for than a load of London photographers taking nearly 700 snapshots, posting them on Flickr and gushing......

As this Thursday’s the first Thursday, you’re likely thirsting for some First Thursday activity. Fortunately for you First Thursday thirsters, there’s a first-rate event worthy even of your chock-full diaries (you might even note it in ink, but we’ll leave that difficult decision to you): The Museum in Docklands keeps its doors open late this week – we’re going to be coy and let you guess the day – with a lineup that will......

Poperoni with extra hat, a stuffed crust Coliseum and spicy deep pan Spanish Steps: we don't see these at our usual pizza place. It seems you have to go to The Museum of London for these special items, as it has some new additions in its collection of Roman artefacts. They look good enough to eat. In fact, they are edible. Sculptures of the Pope, the Coliseum and the Spanish Steps are on exhibition......

The London arts scene got some good news today. The National Portrait Gallery and The V&A are amongst 43 galleries across England to benefit from a whole load of cash from the Wolfson Charity grant: over £4million in total. So what does this mean for London? Well the V&A has been given the most cash. £300,000 is going to go towards helping with issues such as access and sorting out public areas and there......

With the popularity of monthly late night events at Tate Britain and the V&A, is it any wonder that other museums want to get in on the act? The latest addition to the fold is the Museum of London, which will be holding its first late night opening tonight. They haven't entirely got the hang of it - it'll all be over by 9pm - but the principle of the thing is sound. With......

This week, in our ongoing quest to explore interesting bits of London that we’ve not yet experienced, we decided to act like tourists. No, we’re not talking about congregating in large groups and milling around aimlessly in front of ticket barriers and escalators, although that seemingly popular tourist pastime does sound like fun. No instead we’ve opted to check out mainstream ‘tourist attractions’, to see if they are really worth the attention that visitors......

Crossrail. Will they, won’t they? This project has been hanging around longer than a sloth in a gibbet. And seems to be causing a comparable stink. At least with the residents of Spitalfields and Whitechapel, where ‘No to Crossrail’ signs are as common as Brick Lane tikka touts. Today, a new concern about the much-delayed rail link surfaced. The Museum of Immigration and Diversity, at 19 Princelet Street, claim that construction work could undermine......

Next week the catchily titled Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising will open its doors up in Notting Hill, and despite the rather unweildy name it looks like this is a new London attraction Londonist will be visitng before too long. The musuem is billed as displaying "200 years of consumerism, reflected through packaging design, brand development, poster and TV advertising," and yet it seems to be the result of just one man's obsession......
